Starting College My name is Ashley Prime. I graduated from high school this year and I am going to college this fall. I would like to join a basketball team in college. image of basketball player outline shooting a ball
In the future I would like to work at a restaurant or work at Amazon. Image of Amazon logo black letters on white background with yellow smile under the word
I have an intellectual disability and some of the services I received in high school were speech and counseling. I feel sad and frustrated about my disability, but I'm also fine with it. It's sometimes hard for people with disabilities to learn.
How do you see these services as helpful? These services have helped me not be afraid of speaking in public When you have a disability it's okay to tell your story. It okay to have services because it helps you get better.
My advice would be it's okay to have a disability, just keep on trying your best and have a lot of support. Having a support system is helpful because they understand your needs.
My school did not prepare me for my next step of going to college. I wish I could have had more support in my classes. Schools should offer more support for college transition and academic advice.
Mindful activities are relaxing. 1 guided meditation 2 mindful walking 3 Body scan 4 Mindful eating 5 nature observation 6 gratitude practice
